1993

SmartWater Technology arrives on the market - a powerful new deterrent is born.

1996

Tag Systems, the UK arm of BetaGuard, enters the market offering site security and access control solutions.

1997

TAG Systems secures it’s first commercial customer, Tarmac.

1999

BetaGuard enters Europe, offering security services in Benelux.

2007

 PID Systems is born, pioneers behind the PID 360 and future market leaders in temporary site security.

2010

Northamptonshire Police announce 70% reduction in domestic burglary following SmartWater rollout.
 
SmartWater launches in France.

2011

Contracts secured with Openreach (a BT Group Business), Network Rail, National Grid and Severn Trent Water to protect their national critical copper cabling infrastructure.

2012

National Intelligence Portal launches, working with UK police service and major utility companies. 

Major cable theft gangs imprisoned.

2015

SmartWater secures contract to protect 440,000 London homes - the largest ever forensic liquid rollout. The project - titled 'MetTrace', goes on to see a 25% reduction in burglary.

2016

SmartGel achieves a 90% reduction in ATM attacks in Co-op branches across the South-West, leading to a national rollout.

2017

SmartWater’s forensic liquids are used to protect Syrian artefacts from ISIS looters.

2018

PID Systems enters Ireland.

2020

The SmartWater Group  completes a £14m acquisition of PID Systems Limited, enhancing the group's security proposition on vacant and vulnerable sites.

2021

PID Systems protects landmark international events – the G7 summit and COP26.

2021

The SmartWater Group  secure PE funding from Freshstream and acquires two new European entities, BetaGuard and TagSystems.

2021

SmartWater partners with Toyota in a national initiative to protect catalytic converters – resulting in a 57% reduction in theft.

2022

The SmartWater Group changes and repositions to become DeterTech - to reflect the new acquisitions and changes in the business. 

Baba Devani becomes the new CEO of DeterTech.

2022

 DeterTech acquires SmartGuard, the leading provider of temporary site security in Denmark.
